These are the wraps I keep coming back to.
They’re simple — grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato, maybe some avocado — but it’s the hot honey mustard that makes them. Creamy, a little sweet, a little tangy, with just enough heat to make it interesting.
You can obviously use any leftover chicken you have, but I happen to love grilled chicken in these. That said, crispy fried chicken would be just as good here — maybe even better depending on the day.
This is also one of my favorite next-day lunches. Cold grilled chicken, straight from the fridge, wrapped up with everything else — it just works.
And if you’re feeding a family (or teenagers who are always hungry), this is an easy dinner to keep in rotation. Sometimes I’ll make extra grilled chicken the night before just so I have enough for wraps the next day. Make it once, use it twice — always helpful.
My teens are obsessed with these, which makes it an easy win.

Ingredients You’ll Need
- 2 cups grilled chicken, sliced
- 4 large tortillas (burrito-size works best, but taco-size works too)
- romaine or green leaf lettuce
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1 avocado (optional)
- 1/3 cup hot honey mustard sauce (link this)
- thinly sliced shallots or red onion
- cheese (havarti or cheddar)

Why You Should Always Warm Your Tortillas
Heat your tortilla directly over an open flame — gas burner, grill, whatever you have. It takes about 10 seconds, flipping every 2 seconds, and it completely transforms it. You get those lightly charred spots, it puffs up, and the texture is softer and more flexible.
Don’t skip this. It’s the move.

How to Make Grilled Chicken Wraps
- Warm your tortillas in a pan or directly over an open flame — this makes a huge difference.
- Spread a generous layer of hot honey mustard sauce.
- Add sliced grilled chicken.
- Top with lettuce, tomato, and avocado if using.
- Add a little more sauce if you want.
- Fold tightly like a wrap, or roll it more like a burrito and slice in half.
Optional: you can also crisp the wrap in a pan for a minute or two if you want it warm and slightly golden on the outside.

Tips for the Best Wraps
- Burrito-size tortillas are easiest to work with
- Slice the chicken thin so it layers well
- Don’t overfill or it won’t wrap properly
- Add sauce on both sides if you want it extra saucy

The Hot Honey Mustard Sauce
This is what makes the wrap.
That creamy, sweet, slightly spicy sauce pulls everything together and keeps it from feeling dry or basic.
If you already love cooking with hot honey, like in my garlic hot honey chicken wings, this is another one to keep on repeat.

Description
These grilled chicken wraps are the best way to turn leftover chicken into something you actually want to eat again — layered with crisp lettuce, tomato, avocado, and a creamy hot honey mustard sauce, all wrapped in a warm tortilla. Easy, satisfying, and perfect for quick lunches or weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 2 cups grilled chicken, sliced
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1–2 cups romaine, thinly sliced
- 1 heirloom tomatoes, sliced (if in season)
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 4 slices Havarti cheese
- 1/3 cup hot honey mustard sauce
Instructions
- Warm tortillas directly over an open flame or in a dry skillet for about 20 seconds, flipping every few seconds, until lightly charred and puffed. Don’t skip this — it makes a huge difference.
- Season the tomato slices with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Spread hot honey mustard sauce generously over each tortilla.
- Layer the sliced chicken, Havarti, romaine, tomato, and avocado.
- Add more sauce if you want it extra saucy.
- Fold the bottom up, then fold in the sides and roll tightly. Slice in half if you want.
Notes
• If you can, use heirloom tomatoes when they’re in season — they make a big difference. Always season your tomato slices with a little salt and pepper before adding them to the wrap.
• Warming the tortillas is key. A quick pass over an open flame or in a dry skillet gives you better texture and flavor — don’t skip it.
• This is perfect for leftover grilled chicken, but crispy chicken works just as well if you want something a little more indulgent.
• You can swap the sauce — this also works really well with something like a spicy mayo or calabrian chili mayo.
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
Variations You Can Try
- swap grilled chicken for crispy chicken schnitzel
- try a different sauce like my calabrian chili mayo
- add bacon (this is always a good idea to any meal)
- use a different kind of cheese, like pepperjack or cheddar
- turn it into a bowl instead of a wrap
What to Serve With Chicken Wraps
- a simple salad on the side
- sweet potato wedges or regular french fries
- your favorite potato chips (jalapeno kettle chips are mine)
