Description

If you love matcha but also love coffee (hi, me too), this is your drink. A dirty matcha latte is what happens when your cozy, wholesome matcha meets your loud, caffeinated espresso habit — and honestly, they get along great.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder (use ceremonial or good-quality culinary grade)
  • 2-3 tablespoons hot water
  • 1-2 teaspoons maple syrup (more if you like it sweeter)
  • 3/4 cup cold milk of choice (whole, oat, almond — whatever you like)
  • 1 shot of espresso or 2 oz strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Add the matcha and hot water straight into your glass — I just froth it right in there with my handy dandy handheld whisk.
  2. Once it’s smooth and lightly foamy, add in the maple syrup and froth again for a few seconds to combine.
  3. Fill the rest of the glass with ice.
  4. Pour in your milk.
  5. Top it off with your shot of espresso. Give it a quick stir if you want, or leave the layers just as they are.
